CIAN Education’s larger goal is to create and carry out activities and programs that prepare students for success in the modern photonics workforce—a globally connected workforce with proficiencies in diverse disciplines of high technology as well as knowledge of innovation and commercialization processes. An engineer with these skills and qualities is known as the Engineer of 2020.

CIAN provides unique opportunities for students of all levels from elementary school into graduate school. Professional development opportunities are also offered for industry members and educators.
